I trusted too much.

Before I woke up, if you had asked me if this was a good thing, I would have said “yes.”

I trusted my husband and he trusted his advisors and we both blindly trusted that everything would turn out just fine.

I didn’t look at the facts closely enough. I didn’t check out the evidence closely enough.  I looked at the paperwork and it all seemed fine.

I just trusted that it would be OK.

I am a very capable woman.  I have always considered myself savvy and if you talk to me, you’ll know that I have an opinion for everything. I am smart and I am strong.

So when I say I “trusted,” don’t imagine that I was a weak push-over.  I honestly thought that I was taking an active role in my financial future.
